Business Description

Founded in 2013, Linea Caffe is the latest project of veteran artisan coffee roaster Andrew Barnett, whose expertise is centered in sweetness-forward coffee and espresso, compassionate customer service, and, above all, coffee’s role in bringing people together. Through Andrew’s deep relationships with the world’s most quality-focused coffee producers, we’ve been proud to earn both community adoration in San Francisco and global recognition for our environmentally friendly, award-winning, simply delicious coffees.

Over the years, we’ve learned a lot about what the best farming practices look like, and it’s become clear to us that Organic, Regenerative, and Biodynamic practices not only produce the best tasting coffees, but also do the most for giving back to our sweet earth—a paramount goal as we honor the throughline of coffee.

And while we’ve had a focus on organics since our inception, in 2023 Linea made two important moves towards living our mission: we became a Certified B Corporation, and finalized the transition of our entire coffee inventory to 100% organic offerings. In addition, we are also a certified California Green Business, and are proud to hold this status in the beautiful state we proudly call home.

Our Mission

We lovingly source, roast, and serve the world’s finest organic coffees.

Regenerative Organic & Biodynamic Agriculture
In exchange for short-term (and short-sighted) gains of lower prices and higher-quantity yields, conventional farming methods simply cost us too much.

We pay with our health. We pay with less flavorful and less nutritious yields. We pay by damaging our soil, poisoning our water, and harming our planet.

It’s not worth it.

Organic farming is better, but still not enough.

Organic foods may be free from chemicals, but they do little for restoring the soil or ecosystem.

We believe the best farming practices are giving back.

(And thankfully, we’re not alone.)

Some of the Many Benefits of ROA

  • Increased soil biodiversity
  • Healthier & more productive soil
  • Soil that’s drought- & flood-resilient
  • Cleaner air and water
  • Enhanced wildlife habitat
  • Improved animal welfare
  • Safer and fairer working practices for farmers
  • Revitalized local communities

All ROA is Organic, but not vice versa

“Organic” is a prerequisite for truly being considered Regenerative, but the opposite is not true.

Some organic farms can technically still call themselves organic while still using toxic pesticides, but less they are focusing on improving soil health, animal welfare, and working conditions, they aren’t an ROA farm.
