Our New Site

What is Steve’s Weave 2.0?

Steve’s Weave 2.0 is our new website that we’ve launched to better accomplish our mission! If you’d like to learn more about Steve’s Weave, its mission, and values, then please check out our About Us page.

Why 2.0?

That’s because we started with a classified site that we call version 1.0. This new site that we are calling Steve’s Weave 2.0 has a bunch of new core features and will have many more in the future. If you have any feedback on our new site, then please let us know!

What Cities/Regions are currently available on this site?

Steve’s Weave is usable throughout the US and Canada. Visitors and small businesses in all 50 US states and in 10 Canadian provinces can add and find posts in their area. That said, we’re currently featuring five cities:

  • Boston, MA
  • Raleigh, NC
  • San Francisco, CA
  • Seattle, WA
  • Vancouver, BC

We’re a small startup, so we must prioritize, which means that our resources now available for partnerships, development and marketing will go further if we concentrate on a limited number of cities. If you want us to prioritize your city or region and want to help, please feel free to contact us.

What happened to the old site?

First, thanks for coming back! The old classified-based site has been retired. Based on feedback from our community we’ve launched a new platform that will help us make sustainable living even easier for more people and organizations.

Where possible, we’ve carried over information and listings from the old site and added them to the new site’s business listings or relevant posts. See more about Stitches below.

How can I best use Steve’s Weave 2.0 as a eco-concious consumer?

Glad you asked! With the MVP you can find sustainability-minded businesses in your area (see available cities/regions). You can also browse by business categories to find listings nationwide.

Do I need to create an account to browse the site?

Nope! You can access all our listed businesses and information as a logged-in user.

That being said, we encourage you to sign up. Among other benefits, creating an account and logging-in will mean that your default location will be saved for future visits, making it easier to find businesses near you.

Will I receive updates on the businesses I follow?

We plan to add this functionality in the future. When you sign up, we strongly recommend that you opt-in to “Receive updates from Steve’s Weave.” That way you’ll know as soon as this feature – and other great additions – become available.

Can I add my own posts?

Posts are available only for businesses at this time. We plan to add further functionality for users in future updates.

How can I best use Steve’s Weave as a Business or Manager?

You can use the Steve’s Weave MVP to reach a sustainability-minded audience. Highlight your sustainability story in your profile and then add posts to keep eco-conscious buyers updated on any green accomplishments, new promotions, or upcoming events.

What Types of Businesses are allowed?

We invite all sustainability-minded businesses to join! Whether you own or manage a bike shop, brewery, beauty salon or any other, you are welcome to add your business.

My business is already listed, how do I take over the listing?

You can take over the management of your listing. Simply click on “Claim This Business.” Provide your full name, email address, and phone number and select “Submit Form”. Once your request is submitted, please allow 3 to 5 business days for processing.

Please note that providing an email address with an email domain that matches your website will allow us to verify and provide access more quickly.

What if I have multiples store locations? Or sell primarily online?

If you have multiple stores or service locations you can add and manage a business listing for each. Please note that each business listing will feature its own posts. Updates or announcements that you want to share across locations will require a post for each of your listings.

We’re now looking to provide improved functionality for businesses with multiple store locations. As always, we welcome your feedback on future functionality.

What Information do I need to get started with my business listing?
  • Business name: The name of your business as you want customers to see it on the site. If you simply want to use My Green Business instead of My Green Business, LLC then go ahead!
  • Location (Leave blank if online only): The physical address of your business. If you don’t have a physical shop that’s meant for customers but focus on a local area then you can enter a city without a specific address (e.g. Boston, MA). If you have an online presence only and don’t focus on a local area, then you can leave this blank.
  • Website: The URL for your business’ webpage such as mygreenbusiness.com. 
  • Contact email (Optional): An email address that is most suitable for customers to reach you such as info@mygreenbusiness.com. 
  • Contact phone (Optional): A phone number that is most suitable for customers to reach you.
  • Images (Optional):

We don’t! At least not yet. 

Eventually we may include advertisements and offer premium services such as promoted posts. If you’re interested in promoting your business right now, then you can reach out to us in the meantime.

We recognize that each individual has their own journey and our mission is to make sustainable living easier for everyone.
